Video Game Trailer Contest hosted by The Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] in collaboration with FANTASIA
The Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] is pleased to announce a collaboration with the FANTASIA Festival 2006 to host a video game trailer contest aimed at promoting creativity in the expert fields of game development, digital filmmaking, and electronic music. The contest will be held under the banner of Anima, a division initiated by the SAT for creative and promotional projects related to video game development. The Anima Contest 2006 is a joint initiative of the SAT and the FANTASIA Festival.
Last day for contest entries: July 1st, 2006
The Anima Contest 2006 aims to foster collaborations at the SAT between new media artists and video game designers by inviting them to produce an animated video (maximum 3 minutes) in the form of a video game trailer. The top films will be selected by a jury of professionals in the field and screened during a special MixSessions party held at the SAT on July 13th, 2006, in collaboration with the FANTASIA Festival. The winning film will also be shown on FANTASIA’s closing night.
ANIMA aims to promote collaborative projects at the SAT in the area of video game development. The Anima Festival 2004, a computer animation showcase, was a great success with members of the public and the digital animation community.
SAT[MixSessions] is a collective for the promotion and development of works by local video and sound artists. Performances are held at the SAT every Thursday.The Fantasia International Genre Film Festival is back in 2006 to satisfy the enthusiastic and ever-growing crowds that will gather for the festival’s tenth edition. After nine successful years, Montreal’s Fantasia Festival has grown into the most important genre-film festival in North America, and is now considered a major and unique Canadian cultural alternative.
