Animation contest in Japan

Animation contest in Japan : Digital Creators Competition 2010 (Price : 1000$ + a round-trip ticket to Japan)

Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade and the Digital Content Association of Japan (DCAJ) would like to invite students, hobbyists or professionals of Quebec to participate at the contest "Digital Creators Competition 2010".

This contest aims to encourage the next generation of animators in Quebec and to show off the talents of Quebecker artists to the world, especially in Korea, in Taiwan and in Japan.

Price to win : « Prix Québec » :1 000 $ and a round-trip ticket Montreal-Tokyo

Rules :

  • Animations made individually or in group are allow.
  • Use digital art techniques (CG).
  • No interactive animation.
  • The animations must be original (belong to the participants). Contract works are not allow.
  • Professional animators can participate too but they must submit personal animations and not works done for their company or for clients.
  • Verify that you have the rights for all the elements on your animation OR assume your responsability if a there is a problem. Organizers will not take theses responsabilities.
  • No age limit.
  • Your animations must contains sound effects.

How to participate :

1 - Prepare your candidature
     a. Only 1 animation is allow to be submit as an individual or as a group.
     b. Length : 3 minutes or less (if the animation is edit to respect the 3 minutes, please make a note)
     c. Media support : DVD-R or CD-R.
     d. Format : Windows Media Player, Apple Quick Time or DVD (NTSC or PAL) without restrictions of the region, compatible with Windows XP or Mac OS9/OSX.
     e. Stick a label on the DVD-R or CD-R with your name and the title of the animation.
     f. Fill the form and join it with your candidature.

     Caution : Your animation will not be return, make your own copy first.

3- Deadline to submit your work: August 23, 2010

* Your animation will be judge by professionals of the japanese industry.

* Date and the award ceremony place: October 15, 2010 at Tokyo International Exchange Center. We will announce the winners after that date.
