Fresh out of this year's annual SIGGRAPH conference in San Diego ( August 5th to 9th), the best animations of the year that were retained in the prestigious SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival will be screened right here in Montreal, in an outdoor, summer-style venue.

This animation festival is a widely-respected international competition that showcases the most entertaining and innovative animations of the year. The international jury has the difficult task of choosing the best that will meet the very high and stringent expectations of the SIGGRAPH audience. The pieces include artistic and scientific experiments, visual effects, interactive techniques and animation shorts. There is something for everyone, from the well-initiated to those who are simply curious.

The screening will begin at 9.30pm Saturday August 18 in the Parc de la Paix, just beside the SAT, 1195 boul. Saint-Laurent. Have no fear: In case of rain, "the show will go on", but inside, next door at the SAT itself.
